Oilseed rape

Heal Farms started growing oilseed rape as a replacement for Sugar Beet when the local British Sugar Factory at Allscott was closed in Autumn 2007. We have continued to expand the acreage which now stands at over 1000 acres and have tried a range of new varieties with increased yields.

The Spring oilseed rape varieties have been a useful addition to cropping when Autumn conditions have been particularly difficult.
